There are lots of really good things happening for Environment Week coming up from 25th to 29th June 2012 at the lovely leafy Addison Road Centre.
- MONDAY 25th June – Free workshop – Learn to build a seating area using sustainable branches & a recycled timber seat for your backyard. The Bower & Addison Road Centre Organisation. 10am into the afternoon.
- TUESDAY 26th June – Free workshop – Learn to build raised garden beds out of recycled pallets to build a vegetable garden in your backyard. Take home free worm juice. Reverse Garbage & Addison Road Centre Organisation. 10am-12noon.
- WEDNESDAY 27th June – Free movie night – 2 movies – ‘Waste Not’ @ 26-minutes & ‘Economics of Happiness’ @ 80-minutes. Early Childhood Environmental Education Network, Reverse Garbage & Addison Road Centre Organisation. This is an outdoor event so bring your own blanket to sit on. There will be bean bags & outdoor heaters onsite. 6pm sharp.
- THURSDAY 28th June – Free workshop – Learn what native plants to plant in your backyard to attract desirable insects to the garden/vegetable garden. Pick up a free plant to get your garden started. Marrickville Community Nursery & Addison Road Centre Organisation. 10am-11am.
- FRIDAY 29th June – Launch of Compost Kingdom. Workshop – How to compost. Addison Road Centre Organisation. Win a free compost bin. 3pm-5pm.
Attend any of the events & be in the running to win a compost bin.

What a fantastic week of free ‘green’ activities!
Could this be repeated in school holidays? Perhaps a different theme for each season!
So much better than students spending holiday activities in a shopping mall!
And whoever designed this poster, please stand up & take multiple bows! It’s wonderful
