Dead tree in Warren Road Marrickville

Marrickville Council has given notice that they intend to the following trees in Marrickville –

Tree number 1: Blueberry Ash (Elaeocarpus reticulatus) outside 52 Warren Road Marrickville.

Council gives the following reason for removal –

The tree has terminally declined & has been assessed to be a dead tree.  Current low risk to the public will escalate if removal is not undertaken in the short term.” 

Council says they will replace this tree with 2 Snow in Summer (Melaleuca linariifolia) during the 2012-2013 tree-planting program.

A smaller dead tree next to this one was removed recently.

Tree number 2: Bottlebrush (Callistemon viminalis) outside 25 Riverside Crescent Marrickville.

Council gives the following reason for removal –

“The tree has terminally declined & has been assessed to be a dead tree.  Current low risk to the public will escalate if removal is not undertaken in the short term.”

Council says they will replace this tree with a Water Gum (Tristaniopsis laurina) during the 2012-2013 tree-planting program.

Tree Number 3:  Wallangarra White Gum (Eucalyptus scoparia) in Steel Park opposite 566 Illawarra Road Marrickville.

Council gives the following reason for removal –

“The tree has rapidly declined over the past 12 months and has been assessed to be a dead tree.  Current low risk to the public will escalate if removal is not undertaken in the short term.”

Council says they will replace this tree with a Scribbly Gum (Eucalyptus haemastoma) within Steel Park during the 2012-2013 tree-planting program.

All 3 trees are dead.  Any submissions are due by Friday 21st September 2012.
