The Department of Transport removed a number of trees on railway land close to Lewisham Railway Station within the last few months. These trees were highly visible, so it was a loss to see them go.
Therefore, I was pleased to see that Marrickville Council (I am assuming it was Council) has planted around 8 new trees & plants, plus added a bench seat in the small space between the footpath & the fence along the railway line close to Lewisham Railway Station on the city side of Railway Terrace.
It is not often that Council plants in small spaces, but in this case the new trees & vegetation will do much to soften the landscape in this area. It looks good.
